July’s numbers for July 2008 are out, and Google has finally broken the magic number.
Google now reports 70.77 percent of all U.S. searches.
comScore is out for June 2008.
Google hovers at just above 60% of U.S. Search market, at 61.8%. AOL and Ask continue to drop off. Total searches continue to grow, up another 7% from May 2008.
Rustybrick woke me up out of my Friday Zone with some interesting breaking news today: Google Trends is now open out of the Labs for web sites.
This is very cool info for those of us looking for some numbers out of our markets.
Some features include:
The site is accessible without the personalization, but logging in with your Google Account also allows you to export the trend data as a .csv.
The data is culled from the pool of information Google has been collecting through an opt in in it’s Analytics program, consumer panel data, and market research, so it should more closely resemble true trends than similar online products like Alexa, which collect data from a limited pool of toolbar users.

Hitwise is out with the May ‘08 numbers.
Google is up and Yahoo! is down. Again.
Mark Walsh reports on the boost in Local Sales:
“Local Internet advertising is expected to increase 50% in 2008 to $13.1 billion as small and medium businesses facing a faltering economy turn to less expensive options for reaching consumers, according to a new study.”
Woot! for Local!
comScore is out with their April ‘08 numbers, which are admittedly more of the same that we’ve already seen.
One minor difference is that comScore has Yahoo!holding more of it’s own than the Hitwise numbers. Google’s growth seems to come from over all industry growth, and less than the cannibalism from an impending recession than other monthly interpretations.

IAB and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) have release their 2007 Internet Advertising Report.
Major metrics include:
The data seems to follow wider technology trends, and slight steps away from old-form advertising tatctics, opting instead for Seach and Performance deals.
No huge surprise, Classifieds took another turn for the worse.
Barry Schwartz has shared some YouTube demographic data today that, although not too surprising, is mind-boggling when you see it in colorful pie chart form.

Once again, Hitwise has released new numbers for this month, April 2008, and once again Google has posted growing numbers.
Up to 67.90%, most of their gains did not come from a strengthening market as hes been the case in the past. This time rather, it would appear that Google is in fact stealing shares straight out of the mouths of rivals Yahoo! and MSN.
Has anyone started the 70% countdown meter yet?
